We are a three-generation family dedicated to growing a diverse range of organic produce – from vegetables, fruits, nuts, herbs, to vibrant flowers – in the terraced fields of the fertile valley of San Blas in Nadur, Gozo.
Although we are primarily farmers, our commitment extends beyond just cultivation: at San Blas Valley we care deeply for the environment. By opting to farm organically, we promote healthy soil through self-improving crops and balanced farming practices. We grow and carefully preserve heirloom vegetable and flower seeds that have adapted to our maritime environment, ensuring their availability for future generations. Blessed with natural spring water which is generously shared with our fellow farmers, we ensure that all our produce remains genuinely natural and free from any chemical contamination.
In addition to our usual crops, we are continuously trialing new produce. It takes time, but the patience eventually yields immense satisfaction when we can finally witness our new crops thriving in just the right patch.
As climate changes, so do our methods of farming, especially during the summer months. Heat waves are becoming stronger and longer, requiring more efforts to keep our fields constantly fresh and well-watered.
Our vision is long-term and self-sustainable. We firmly believe that diversity, not monoculture, is the foundation for a sustainable landscape on our island.
